And so it all comes to an end... Christopher Nolan did an excellent job at rebooting a troubled franchise and bringing to the screen an enlightened trilogy of Batman lore, using Christian Bale and a cast of memorable supporting characters to delve into moral quandaries and darker situations, the franchise set records in many categories. As for me, well, I generally detest the comic book genre but am willing to make exceptions when they are warranted. With the Nolan Batman trilogy, I think the bar is set as high as possible, and I'm glad to see it come to an end with an acceptable finale.
I'm a few weeks late to the party with this write up and I doubt anyone will see it or not see based on this, so I'll be brief... I also just don't feel like doing any real analysis or expounding on anything at all, actually...
I enjoyed it, even at 2.5 hours, and even with some plot holes... It was a perfect tone for what was happening, if you've seen the other two films, and the ending was decent enough, though Nolan allows for too much exposition for my taste... I don't need to be told in a 2 minute soliloquy exactly what just happened or what it all means, but I guess a few million pubescent boys do.
It's worth the money.
